Project Description
To review the 2020 edition of the Bay of Plenty Spaces and Places Strategy to:
Build on the foundations of the 2020 (2nd edition).
Provide a high-level strategic framework for sport, recreation and facility planning and development across the region.
Inform Council LTP processes.
RSL’s Role
RSL led the delivery of the project, with direction and guidance provided by a regional Project Steering Group.
Project Outcome
The project was successfully delivered on budget and to agreed timelines (with PSG).
The refreshed Bay of Plenty Spaces and Places Strategy 2024 provides an updated, agreed and pragmatic approach to spaces and places provision for play, active recreation and sport in the region. It considers the participant’s changing needs and the spaces and places that support active recreation and play alongside sport. It highlights the importance of fiscally prudent decisions and collaborative solutions to facility challenges.
