Recreation Aotearoa | Te Whai Oranga Aotearoa National Awards

It was fantastic to see Te Tai Tokerau regional planning projects, including Kōkiri ai Te Waka Hourua – a region wide strategy for play, active recreation and sport, receiving recognition at last week’s Recreation Aotearoa | Te Whai Oranga Aotearoa National Awards for an outstanding research, planning or policy project.

Congratulations to Sport Northland, Sport New Zealand, Northland Sports Coalition, Te Kahu O Taonui, Northland Regional Council, Whangarei District Council, Kaipara District Council and Far North District Council for having the vision to undertake a regional wide approach to play, active recreation and sport.

RSL was privileged to be given the responsibility to work with this collective to develop this strategy and 2 associated plans, it is great to see the impacts this planning is already having within the region.
