Taupō Squash Club Feasibility Study

Taupō Squash Club (TSC) commissioned Recreation Sport and Leisure Consultancy (RSL) to undertake an independent feasibility study on the development of a new facility In Taupō.

The existing TSC is an older facility requiring significant investment to extend its life. The TSC has considered that this presents an opportunity to consider how the club could be more financially sustainable. The club requested a feasibility study that looks at new squash courts, an improved bar/bistro experience and additional, multi-use sports court for hire, all of which present an opportunity for further revenue generation.

RSL worked alongside the TDC project team, stakeholders and other potential user groups to assess current and potential future demand for indoor court space. Following this several facility options were identified and a preferred option agreed upon with the project team. A preliminary design was undertaken along with associated capital and operating expenditure. Preliminary governance considerations were also included. RSL continue to provide support to the project as it enters the next stages.
